ONE Fight Night 13 Results: Allazov Dominates Grigorian, Maintains Status As Featherweight Kickboxing King

ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Chingiz Allazov fought in his second headliner event inside the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, this year. And as he did in his outing against Superbon in January, he left the legendary venue covered in gold confetti and the ONE World Title.

The divisional kingpin had been waiting for a rematch against Marat Grigorian for almost a decade, after loosing to the #2-ranked contender in 2013 outside of ONE Championship. And in the main event of ONE Fight Night 13 on Prime Video on August 4, he gained some well-deserved redemption.

"Chinga" stayed diligent by attacking and defending at the start of the thrilling 15-minute war, picking his shots wisely and countering efficiently to frustrate the Hemmers Gym athlete. It didn't take him long to string his prototypical four-piece combinations together, which drew a reaction from the challenger.

Grigorian's response was to maintain a tight guard and keep the Azerbaijani-Belarusian striker backpedaling. However, every time he connected from close range, Allazov returned the favor with four.

The Gridin Gym representative's stance switches, footwork, and attacking artillery allowed him to shred Grigorian's defense to bits as the third round unfolded, and it stayed that way - with him mixing targets - went the championship rounds got underway.

Although Allazov took large chunks of breath at the start of the fifth stanza, he still managed to infuriate Grigorian, who was forced to miss more than he landed right up until the final seconds of their five-round duel.

Before that battle of the beards thrilled the audience in the stadium, ONE Flyweight Submission Grappling World Champion Mikey Musumeci successfully defended his gold with a unique triangle-armbar combination versus Jarred Brooks.

"Darth Rigatoni" didn't show any signs of vulnerability throughout the matchup, staying one step ahead with his blend of pace and aggression to earn a highlight-reel finish over the ONE Strawweight MMA World Champion at 7:30 of the contest.
