Jessa Khan has a unique opportunity later this month. The Cambodian-American will step inside the Circle at ONE Fight Night 14 for the first time. And when she does, she could leave with the inaugural ONE Atomweight Submission Grappling World Title in tow.
Khan meets Danielle Kelly in her ONE debut on Saturday, 30 September, inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium. But not everybody is happy about Khan receiving a title shot right off the bat.

Her nemesis Kelly has stated in recent interviews that she would've preferred Khan to work her way to a World Title shot, much like the Silver Fox BJJ star had to.
However, Khan isn't about refusing opportunities. And having recently been crowned the 2023 IBJJF World Champion, she believes her credentials are as good as any to vie for the inaugural crown.
"You know, I'm obviously not going to complain about that if they're giving me a good deal. Props to her for already doing her first couple fights with ONE and getting used to that environment," Khan said.
"But I just won the Worlds. Not that that means I should get any special treatment or anything. But, you know, they're also giving me a title shot in ONE Championship. So I'm happy to take that."
The history between Jessa Khan and Danielle Kelly is well known at this point. And it makes ONE Fight Night 14's meeting all the more juicier. Khan earned the decision win when the pair first crossed paths two years ago at Who's Number One?
Both women's abilities have evolved greatly in the time since then. But Khan doesn't feel threatened by Kelly's advances. And whatever the Philadelphia native has planned, Khan believes she'll be ready to counter it.
"To be honest, I don't really see too much. Maybe her takedowns. I know in the other match we did, she was able to take me down. So I'd say she has some pretty good wrestling," Khan said.
"She's very flexible, [which is] good [for her] defense. But for the most part, that's all I really see. I'm not really too focused on her game because I want to focus on myself. And whatever she does or tries to do, I'm going to have an answer to that."
