Alibeg Rasulov made a statement in the ONE Fight Night 23 main event this past weekend when he outlasted former ONE Lightweight MMA World Champion Ok Rae Yoon in a gruelling five-round war of attrition.
The ONE Interim Lightweight MMA World Title clash went down at the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Saturday, July 6. But Alibeg was ineligible to take home the belt after his victory due to his weigh-in taking place outside of the allotted timeslot.

The Dagestan-born Turkish standout's clinch game was the difference on the night, as he relentlessly stalked and smothered Ok at close range.
The South Korean was only able to create space for a few brief moments throughout the contest, as Rasulov smothered his foe's vaunted striking game.
Rasulov's victory will no doubt have the lightweight MMA elite taking notice, with the 31-year-old calling for a shot at two-weight ONE World Champion Christian Lee after his successful promotional debut.
In the night's co-headliner, Scotland's Nico Carrillo reaffirmed his place at the top of the bantamweight Muay Thai rankings with a two-round demolition of former World Title challenger Saemapetch Fairtex.
"The King of the North" dropped Saemapetch three times in the second round, marking his fourth knockout in as many appearances under the ONE banner.
Carrillo's heavy hands did the damage once again, scoring the 25-year-old a US$50,000 performance bonus courtesy of ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong. Here is a look at ONE Fight Night: Ok vs Rasulov full results:
