ONE Fight Night 26: Alibeg Rasulov Ready To Show The Power Of Dagestani Wrestling Against Christian Lee

By Mike Joseph

A fighting sensation from the rugged mountains of Dagestan is ready to conquer the combat sports world. Alibeg Rasulov will challenge reigning ONE Lightweight and Welterweight MMA World Champion Christian Lee at ONE Fight Night 26.

On 7 December, the duo will collide for the "The Warrior's" lightweight belt in the squared circle of Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. This fight marks the hotly anticipated comeback of Lee, the Singaporean-American superstar who last competed in November 2022.

With an astounding record of 13-0, Rasulov made a successful debut in ONE in 2024 by defeating former divisional king Ok Rae Yoon. Coming from Dagestan, it is safe to say that wrestling is his strong suit. In fact, he believes that his skills in the art is far superior to Lee's.

"Wrestling is my base. I think everybody knows that very good wrestlers come from Dagestan. We start at a very early age. We get used to competing and fighting. It's in our blood. In general, we love to wrestle. I mostly wrestle in all my fights." Rasulov said.

"I think that Christian Lee has not yet met an opponent like me. My wrestling is better than his. He has had a long layoff, and I think he will get tired more than me. I just have to force my game on him."

Lee has previously stated that he is in the best shape of his career. A two-year hiatus from competition, however, can affect any acclaimed fighter's rhythm and gas tank. Rasulov will aim to capitalize on this to achieve golden success.

The 31-year-old remains undefeated in 14 fights and has no desire to lose. He knows that winning the ONE belt, especially against an established fighter like Lee, will lead him to fame.

"I have a zero-loss record, and losing is not in my plans. Of course, I'm aiming for that belt, and he's going to have a really hard time in this fight." Rasulov said.

"ONE Championship is a very good worldwide organization, well-known by everybody. Becoming a champion in this organization is very prestigious. I will become recognizable if I become the champion."
