ONE Fight Night 29 Results: Allycia Rodrigues Stops McManamon to Retain Muay Thai Gold on Women's Day

By Mike Joseph

It took a few minutes for ONE Women's Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues to get going, but when she did, the Brazilian powerhouse never once turned back.

Rodrigues came alive in the third round to stop Marie McManamon on the stool in between the fourth and fifth round and retain her ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Title. This happened in the main event of ONE Fight Night 29 on March 8 inside Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

After a slow first round where the Brazilian sized up her challenger with kicks, the Phuket Fight Club representative started flowing in the second round. She connected on a solid left hook before landing combinations late in the fight, dropping body shot to hook combinations to set the tone.

Her biggest round came in the third after rocking the Irish-British fighter with a head kick. She then connected on a booming left hook to score the first and only knockdown of the fight.

It wasn't like she needed more knockdowns though. Rodrigues tore through her opponent's guard in the fourth round, pinning McManamon on the corner while swarming with combinations, as a huge lump formed on the right side of McManamon's forehead.

In between the fourth and fifth rounds, the ring doctor saw enough. The referee then stopped the fight to give Rodrigues her third successful World Title defense as she improved to 34-7.

In the co-main event, Ramoblek put an end to Perham Gheirati's six-fight win streak in the most impressive fashion. He stopped the Iranian in the second round of their bantamweight Muay Thai fight via knockout.

After scoring two knockdowns in the first round, the 21-year-old earned two more knockdowns in the second. One included a straight right just seconds after the restart, prompting referee Olivier Coste to stop the bout at the 1:15 mark. With the victory, Rambolek took his third straight win.

The ONE Fight Night 29 card also featured the ONE debuts of BJJ sensation Diogo "Baby Shark" Reis and unbeaten American MMA phenom Joshua Perreira, as well as the return of unbeaten MMA juggernaut Shamil Erdogan. Here is a look at the final results of ONE Fight Night 29:
