ONE Fight Night 37 Results: Agdeve Shocks Kryklia To Win Heavyweight Title, Carrillo Stops Lessei

By MyKhel Staff

Bangkok, Thailand, hosted ONE Fight Night 37 on Prime Video in U.S. primetime on November 7. The card featured seven opening finishes before delivering a historic heavyweight kickboxing championship coronation.

Samet "The King" Agdeve captured the inaugural ONE Heavyweight Kickboxing World Championship by defeating Roman Kryklia via unanimous decision. The 21-year-old Turkish striker ended Kryklia's seven-year unbeaten streak in stunning fashion.

Agdeve shook off Kryklia's early power punches and countered with devastating calf kicks throughout the opening rounds. A massive welt formed on the Ukrainian champion's left leg, growing larger as the fight progressed.

Kryklia rallied in round three despite the damaged leg, landing straight punches that targeted Agdeve's orbital. The 6-foot-7 giant found moments of success with his trademark power despite fighting on one compromised limb.
The championship rounds belonged to Agdeve. Fighting for his hospitalized mother battling cancer, the Turkish warrior unleashed punches and kicks that broke down Kryklia's previously perfect record for the first time ever.

Clubbing overhands and hooks wobbled the towering champion in the final moments. All three judges awarded Agdeve the unanimous decision, improving him to 18-0 while capturing gold in his promotional debut.

Nico "King of the North" Carrillo defended his #4 featherweight Muay Thai ranking with a second-round TKO of Luke "The Chef" Lessei in the co-main event at the same venue.

Carrillo hunted the knockout early but absorbed numerous low kicks that visibly affected him. The Scottish powerhouse persevered, dropping Lessei with a right punch-knee combination for an eight-count late in round one.
Round two saw Carrillo unleash relentless offense. Body shots, head punches, and pulverizing knees trapped Lessei in the corner with no escape route available for the American challenger throughout the assault.

The referee stopped the contest at 2:35 of round two after six knees and three uppercuts landed without answer. Carrillo improved to 29-4 while positioning himself for a potential title shot against Tawanchai PK Saenchai.
