ONE Fight Night 45: Luke Lessei Eyes World Title After Statement Victory On Last Saturday

ONE Fight Night 45: American Muay Thai standout Luke Lessei delivered a composed, punishing performance over three rounds to defeat Mohamed Younes Rabah in the featherweight main event last Saturday.

Lessei looked calm and controlled throughout the contest, consistently landing the sharper strikes despite Rabah's persistent pressure. When the scorecards were read, Lessei walked away with a clear, unanimous decision victory.

The win holds special significance for Lessei, who has never suffered back-to-back losses throughout his career. Bouncing back from a previous defeat to interim champion Nico Carrillo, he made sure that streak remained intact against a highly respected contender.

"It felt great, I'm always happy to get a win. I've actually never lost two fights in a row. So I got that streak alive coming off a loss against a champion and a win against a top contender like Younes, who's one of my friends. It feels great," Lessei said.

With the victory now behind him, Lessei is turning his attention toward the bigger picture of the featherweight Muay Thai division. He believes his growing resume speaks for itself and intends to keep proving it inside the ring.

"I think I'm a top contender. I want to keep reminding people with good performances, whether that's one, two more fights, or if they want me to rematch Nico Carrillo, it doesn't really matter," he said.

Looking ahead, Lessei feels a ONE World Title opportunity may only be a couple of strong performances away. Given the current state of the division, he insists he is ready to face whichever challenge comes his way next.

"I think I would be one, two fights away from the title, one or two good performances. But because of the landscape of the division, I think I'm ready for whatever comes my way," Lessei said.
