Bangkok, February 7: In just one year with ONE Championship, Danielle Kelly has achieved remarkable success and is now all set to return to the Circle once again.
The 27-year-old is looking to add to her impressive record of 1-0-1 when she faces Ayaka Miura at the upcoming ONE Fight Night 7: Lineker vs. Andrade II.
The two will battle it out in a catchweight submission grappling matchup on Saturday, 25 February, at the famous Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Kelly created a stir in ONE's inaugural women's submission grappling match, when she faced MMA veteran Mei Yamaguchi in her promotional debut at ONE X in March 2022.
Despite not achieving a submission during the 10-minute match, her skillful maneuvers and tactical strategy earned her the coveted US$50,000 performance bonus from ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.
Eight months later in November 2022, Kelly battled sambo specialist Mariia Molchanova at ONE Fight Night 4: Abbasov vs. Lee. This time the Silver Fox BJJ athlete earned a submission victory with a rear-naked choke against her Russian opponent.
Before she joined the organization, Kelly had gained notoriety as an accomplished grappler, having triumphed over the likes of veteran competitors Carla Esparza, Roxanne Modafferi, and Cynthia Calvillo.
Her arrival into ONE was highly anticipated and welcomed by fans. Kelly is now set to face off fearsome "Zombie," an MMA fighter boasting four submission victories in the Circle.
Miura has already challenged some of the toughest adversaries the organization has to offer, such as six-time ONE Women's Strawweight World Champion Xiong Jing Nan and the heavy hitting #5-ranked atomweight contender Tiffany Teo.
The Japanese superstar's black belt in judo and Kelly's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt will make for an intriguing battle within the Circle.
Kelly's impressive track record with the organization, including the rare feat of two back-to-back performance bonuses, furthers her success as she sets her sights on her third consecutive reward.
Fight fans can be sure that this will be an exciting match to watch and yet another pivotal moment in women's submission grappling.
Don't miss any of the must-see action at ONE Fight Night 7: Lineker vs. Andrade II on Saturday, 25 February, at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
