ONE Fight Night 8: Danial Williams Steps In For Rodtang, Faces Superlek For Kickboxing World Title

Singapore, March 23: Australian kickboxer Danial "Mini T" Williams has been confirmed as replacing Rodtang Jitmuangnon in his flyweight bout against Superlek Kiatmoo9 this weekend.

Rodtang withdrew due to an undisclosed injury, handing Williams an opportunity to headline the ONE Fight Night 8 card against Superlek in Singapore this Friday, 24 March.

Williams, a natural strawweight, will now face a formidable challenge in Superlek, who is the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion.

The #5-ranked strawweight has been vocal about wanting to win world titles across MMA, Muay Thai, and kickboxing. Now, Williams has an opportunity to snatch the flyweight kickboxing strap to kick-start his championship ambitions.

Williams was originally slated to face Portuguese veteran Rui Botelho on the card before he was bumped up to the min event.

Williams made his ONE debut against Rodtang in 2021 in a 135-pound catchweight fight. Although he lost, he put on a strong performance in the short-notice opportunity and managed to withstand everything the Thai superstar threw at him.

He then strung together three victories out of four MMA bouts in ONE, scoring two KOs in the process. If he can manage to topple Superlek in the main event of this weekend's martial arts spectacle at ONE Fight Night 8, he'll no doubt shock fans around the world.
