ONE Fight Night 8: Ham Seo Hee Vs. Itsuki Hirata Breakdown

The duo have been on a collision course since their initial bout last November at ONE 163 fell apart when Hirata failed to make weight.

Singapore, March 3: Ham Seo Hee and Itsuki Hirata will finally meet their fate later this month when the Asian superstars settle a score that dates back to November of last year.

The divisional standouts will clash in an atomweight MMA bout on the main card of ONE Fight Night 8 on Saturday, 25 March, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The duo have been on a collision course since their initial bout last November at ONE 163 fell apart when Hirata failed to make weight.

Following the latter's inability to pass the weight and hydration tests, Ham refused to negotiate a catchweight contest with Hirata. Instead, she opted to reschedule the bout for a future date.

Having met the weight limit herself, Ham's wish was granted and the duo will now meet later this month in Singapore.

The excitement around last year's initial contest has certainly carried over into this March matchup, setting the stage for the exciting veteran-versus-rising star showdown.

Over the course of her storied career, "Hamzzang" has built a 25-8 record in MMA. She's also riding an eight-fight winning streak, which includes a perfect 2-0 slate inside the Circle.

Ham has demonstrated her versatile skill set thus far in ONE, with her punishing style already on display in her two promotional wins over Filipino standout Denice Zamboanga.

The 33-fight veteran has a reputation for her forward pressure and is never one to bore the crowd.

Ham finds herself ranked #2 in the women's atomweight division, and a victory over the surging Hirata will certainly put her in the firing line for a ONE World Title shot.

Standing opposite her on 25 March, though, Hirata will have plans to stop the South Korean legend in her tracks in a bid to make a meteoric climb up the atomweight ladder.

The former judoka standout has used her grappling expertise to constantly dominate her opponents on the ground.

However, while she has showcased her strengths, "Android 18" has been honing her striking in the United States in plans to create a more versatile skill set for the Circle.

Last time around, Hirata managed to respond to her first taste of defeat in the Circle, picking up an unquestionable decision win over Lin Heqin.

Now 6-1 with four finishes in her professional career, the Japanese rising star will be full of confidence when she takes on her atomweight nemesis.
