Singapore, March 14: Janet Todd has been untouchable in ONE Championship in recent time, but now she wants to solidify her spot as an undisputed two-sport ONE World Champion.
The interim atomweight Muay Thai and kickboxing queen has the chance to make that happen at ONE Fight Night 8 on Saturday, March 25, when she meets Allycia Hellen Rodrigues for the latter's ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Championship inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Over the course of her four-year tenure in The Home of Martial Arts, "JT" has only tasted defeat once in eight contests. That loss came in her promotional debut against Stamp Fairtex at ONE: Call To Greatness.
Ever since then, the American standout has won seven fights back-to-back, including avenging her loss to Stamp, capturing the ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Title in the process.
The American atomweight has notched three devastating knockouts during her time in ONE against Wang Chin Long, Ekaterina Vandaryeva, and - most recently - Anne Line Hogstad.
While she has already achieved greatness in ONE by dethroning Stamp for the ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Title and then winning the ONE Interim Atomweight Muay Thai World Title, her greatest opportunity awaits at ONE Fight Night 8 later this month.
Should she knock off the ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion and striking prodigy in Rodrigues, the 37-year-old would officially rule ONE's atomweight Muay Thai and kickboxing women's divisions.
Rodrigues hasn't fought since her promotional debut, where she won the ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Title in August 2020. Although Todd and Rodrigues' bout was set to happen last year at ONE on Prime Video 5, Todd caught COVID-19.
Rodrigues will want to make a statement following a lengthy hiatus from the Circle, but Todd's veteran skill set will definitely serve her plenty of confidence in this bout.
