ONE Fight Night 8: Keys To Victory For Superlek Kiatmoo9 Against Danial Williams

Having only just attained the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title, Superlek Kiatmoo9 doesn't want to part with the crown just yet.

"The Kicking Machine" will meet Danial Williams in the main event of ONE Fight Night 8 this Saturday, 25 March, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium and attempt to bring his belt back to Thailand.

Superlek has fought hard to claw his way toward the World Title. Now that he has it, he will do everything in his might to keep his reign alive.

Here are three keys to victory for Superlek at ONE Fight Night 8.

Utilize Short Inside Elbows

Superlek's body of work inside the pocket is second to none. The aggressive Thai striker excels at closing the distance in order to pick his entries and exits with precision.

Having said that, Williams also enjoys a slugfest inside the pocket, so Superlek must be careful. However, as seen in his match against Walter Goncalves, Superlek loves to use short inside elbows that can end a fight at any moment.

Should he pick his moments to cut through Williams' guard, his short inside elbows should be the tactic at the forefront of his mind.

Low Kicks To Keep Williams At Bay

Superlek isn't named "The Kicking Machine" for nothing. Known for his expert kicks, he will be smart to utilize them against Williams, which could slow down the Aussie's attacks. While the fight itself will be between two elite strikers in combat sports, Superlek will prosper if he can keep it simple.

Jabs and low kicks in quick succession will begin to wear Williams down, assisting him in controlling the championship bout.

Maintain High Tempo

A key ingredient that has allowed Superlek to find success in the Circle is his fast-pace approach to competition.

His style is much different to that of Williams. While "Mini T" will slowly stalk you and cut off the Circle, "The Kicking Machine" prefers to stand directly in front of his foes and fluster them with his pressuring style.

Superlek will be smart to put the pressure on Williams, as the latter enjoys finding moments to force his openings to attack. If the pressure is kept on Williams, Superlek's chances of success will grow much higher.
