ONE Fight Night 9: 3 Fights To Steal The Show On April 22

The ninth installment of ONE's Fight Night series goes down this Saturday, 22 April, at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand headlined by a World Championship bout.

Headlining ONE Fight Night 9 is the incomparable ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Hama. He looks to make his eighth consecutive World Title defense against former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Jonathan Haggerty.

While the event is topped off by an elite matchup between two top bantamweights, the remainder of the card is just as exciting. With that, let's look at three fights that could steal the show at ONE Fight Night 9.

Maurice Abevi Vs. Halil Amir: In the evening's co-main event, somebody's zero has to go as Maurice Abevi and Halil Amir clash in lightweight MMA action.

Amir enters the contest at 8-0 and is fresh off a stunning promotional debut last October at ONE on Prime Video 2. There, he left victorious with a stunning first-round finish of Timofey Nastyukhin to announce himself in an already stacked division.

Awaiting him, though, is Abevi, a highly touted 23-year-old prospect who currently holds an impressive 6-0 record and makes his ONE debut that morning.

The Swiss star signed with The Home of Martial Arts to the excitement of many fans, and for good reason. Abevi scored six professional victories by knockout and three by submission. He also stopped two former undefeated talents.

It's a massive co-main event collision, and the winner will see themselves skyrocket up the lightweight fold with an impressive performance.

Bokang Masunyane Vs. Hiroba Minowa: Bokang Masunyane and Hiroba Minowa will find themselves battling for a shot at the ONE Strawweight World Title.

Masunyane is currently ranked #2 and Minowa is ranked #3. So, the victor could leave Lumpinee Stadium as the next contender to divisional king Jarred "The Monkey God" Brooks.

Both battlers have come up short against Brooks in recent outings. With that, the opportunity to avenge the loss is enough to motivate the scrappy strawweights to outdo each other on Saturday morning.

Asa Ten Pow Vs. Han Zi Hao: America's Asa Ten Pow wants to return to winning ways following misfortune in his promotional debut last October at ONE on Prime Video 3. There, he suffered a first-round loss to Mehdi Zatout.

His next opponent, Han Zi Hao, finds himself in a similar predicament. The promotional veteran faced a setback at ONE 161 against Ferrari Fairtex. However, he previously held a strong three-fight winning streak. Han stopped Mohammed Bin Mahmoud before racking up unanimous decision wins over Adam Noi and Victor Pinto.

The pair will look to return to glorious form inside the ring this Saturday (April 22) at Lumpinee Stadium when they meet under bantamweight Muay Thai action.
