Bangkok, April 4: Jonathan Haggerty has his eyes set on the biggest prize in bantamweight Muay Thai later this month at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand at ONE Fight Night 9.
To cement himself as an all-time great in The Home of Martial Arts, "The General" must defeat the legendary Nong-O Hama for the latter's ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title when the two collide in the main event of ONE Fight Night 9 on Saturday, 22 April.

Throughout his time in ONE, Haggerty has faced all sorts of high-level fighters. From strawweight Muay Thai king Joseph Lasiri to ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champ Rodtang Jitmuangnon, "The General" has seen it all.
And in many of his promotional contests, Haggerty's skill set has made him the favorite. This time, though, the gargantuan offering in Nong-O has fans torn.
Nong-O has dominated the bantamweight category for a long time, most recently coming back from the brink of defeat against ruthless Alaverdi Ramazanov to retain his crown, showcasing his durability.
But despite Nong-O's decorated run, Haggerty, a former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion, finds himself on a solid stint en route to the World Title fight. He rides a three-fight winning streak into the contest, with his most recent win coming over Vladimir Kuzmin last November at ONE on Prime Video 4.
If the British banger can carry his signature controlled aggression into ONE Fight Night 9, Haggerty could see himself become one of the very few competitors to have held two World Titles in two separate sports in ONE. He would also be the only man to defeat Nong-O since the Thai legend joined ONE Championship.
And at only 26 years of age, Haggerty continues to improve. Notching such an accolade while continually getting better would show there is still untapped potential waiting to be exploited by the south England slugger.
Therefore, 22 April is undoubtedly the biggest night in the Englishman's career, and a definitive victory would send a message to the division that's long been ruled by Nong-O.
