Jhanlo Mark Sangiao continues to be touted as one of Team Lakay's top prospects. On Saturday, 22 April, Sangiao meets Matias Farinelli in the opening bout of ONE Fight Night 9, and the unbeaten Argentinian will be the Filipino's toughest assignment yet.
Sangiao has delivered in his first two promotional contests, walking away with two first-round submissions over Paul Lumihi and Anacleto Lauron. The two victories have helped introduce the 20-year-old to the masses and provided a platform for him to showcase his potential.

The bantamweight prospect has continued to improve every time he's under the bright lights of ONE Championship, but the threat Farinelli possesses exceeds anything he has previously faced. It's no secret Farinelli's strengths lie heavily in his grappling skills, having never had a fight go the distance in his career.
"El Rasta" has faced tough competition, and because he has yet to go past the second round, he'll have plenty of confidence to stop Sangiao's momentum in its tracks.
At 38 years old, Argentina's Farinelli has attained plenty of experience throughout his extensive time in martial arts, making this a true battle of prospect-versus-veteran later this month.
While the Argentinian will be the biggest step-up in Sangiao's career, the youngster will see Farinelli as an opportunity to cement himself among his fellow bantamweights, proving he is much more than just Team Lakay's supposed next big thing.
The outstanding Filipino team once reigned over ONE with multiple World Champions sitting at the top of their respective divisions. Like those before him, Sangiao wants to follow in the footsteps of those pioneers. In order to do so, he'll not only have to dispatch Farinelli, but do so in dominant fashion.
