ONE Fight Night: Regian Eersel Defends Muay Thai Title Against George Jarvis On August 2

By MyKhel Staff

ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Champion Regian Eersel will defend his crown on August 2 against Britain's George Jarvis in the main event of ONE Fight Night 34 in Bangkok, Thailand's historic Lumpinee Stadium.

Eersel has been near-perfect since arriving in ONE Championship. The Surinamese star tasted two-sport gold, displayed peerless technique and an unwavering championship mettle. His 12-1 promotional record against the world's greatest strikers has proven his pound-for-pound status time and again.

"The Immortal" laid claim to the inaugural ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Title against Nieky Holzken and the inaugural ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Championship over Sinsamut Klinmee. His legacy might be set in stone, but he constantly chisels with new additions.

Most recently, Eersel concluded his entertaining trilogy against Alexis Nicolas by defeating his rival in the final two tilts between the expert kickboxing strikers. Now, he dons the 4-ounce gloves again to prove his two-sport dominance against a fierce challenger.

For as long as a king sits on his throne there are hungry challengers clawing to unseat him. That is the case for Jarvis, who has responded from his narrow debut loss with four consecutive victories to earn a six-figure contract on ONE's roster.

The rise of the former WBC Muay Thai World Champion has been a captivating story to watch unfold. If he can write another chapter filled with realized dreams, Jarvis will join Jonathan Haggerty as British superstars wearing ONE gold.

The 24-year-old sees a changing of the guard in the future, and one that he can lead with brute force. "G-Unit" will offer an aggressive style that will force Eersel to be on his A-game come the heat of summer.

The clash of styles will give fans a memorable main event, as one man will take control and walk out of Lumpinee Stadium with 26 pounds of gold over his shoulder as confetti falls from the ceiling.

ONE Fight Night 34 will be broadcast live on JioHotstar and Star Sports Select 2 at 6:30 a.m. India Standard Time (IST) on Saturday, August 2.
