ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon Talks About His Future Plans, Family And Children

By Mike Joseph

ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon is a married man, and with marriage often comes children. "The Iron Man" married fellow Muay Thai fighter Aida Luksaikongdin earlier this year after the pair had been dating since 2020.

Rodtang and Aida are one of Muay Thai's power couples and regularly share their adventures - and playful sparring sessions - on social media for their legions of followers. But have they made the leap into parenthood yet?

With fighting firmly entrenched in the bloodline of both potential parents, there could be some future champions to emerge from their union. Rodtang Jitmuangnon and his wife Aida Luksaikongdin do not currently have kids.

While there are no children just yet, the 26-year-old revealed in a recent interview that he has been thinking about life after he draws the curtain on his historic professional career of more than 320 fights. Having a family is a big part of his plans.

"I want to have kids and enjoy a couple's life. And if I can, I will have my own gym for our next generation of fighters," he said. "Of course, since I have a family now, I must have more determination. And I have an explicit goal to be a role model for my children. I want them to see dad as their idol."

Rodtang has already set an inspirational example for his future children. The Thai superstar is one of the most recognizable faces in combat sports today and has reigned over ONE's flyweight Muay Thai division since 2019.

The Jitmuangnon Gym representative has just announced his next thrilling challenge under striking rules, which comes in the form of Japanese kickboxing sensation and three-division K1 World Champion Takeru Segawa.

The pair will clash in a five-round flyweight kickboxing super-fight at ONE 165 on January 28. The event will be ONE's first in the martial arts hotbed of Japan since ONE CENTURY PART I and II in 2019.

Coincidentally, Rodtang was also on the bill that night. There, he made his first defense of the flyweight Muay Thai strap with a split-decision win over Brazilian hard hitter Walter Goncalves.
