ONE Friday Fights 17 Results: Pompetch Stuns Duangsompong, Avatar Avenges Komawut Defeat

ONE Friday Fights returned with its 17th weekly installment of nonstop MMA and Muay Thai action inside Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, last Friday, May 19.

The main event saw Pompetch PK Saenchai make a solid statement in his promotional debut against Duangsompong Jitmuangnon, as he needed only 1:15 to dispatch his compatriot in their 133-pound catchweight Muay Thai bout.

Duangsompong was the aggressor from the opening bell and was clearly keen to feel his foe out. But that proved his undoing in the end, as Pompetch countered an attack and landed a blistering left hook that sent him to the canvas.

Pompetch kicked off his ONE tenure in emphatic style with his win, but the battle that stole the show was the evening's co-main event between Avatar PK Saenchai and Komawut FA Group.

Following their first meeting at ONE Friday Fights 11 in March, which saw Komawut walk away with the win, Avatar was ready to even the score.

The striking stars battled hard against each other, but this time it was Avatar who landed the cleaner strikes while maintaining control of the bout of the bantamweight Muay Thai showdown.

After three rounds of action, the judges deemed the PK Saenchai standout's efforts worthy of a unanimous decision win.
