The new year is now upon us. And with that, it's time to get back to the weekly fighting festivities when ONE Friday Fights 47 kicks off 2024 at Bangkok, Thailand's Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.
The action goes down on Friday, 12 January, and features elite Muay Thai, kickboxing, and mixed martial arts action that will set the stage for ONE's first double-header of 2024. Following ONE Friday Fights 47 is ONE Fight Night 18: Gasanov vs. Oh on 13 January at the same venue.

The main event of ONE Friday Fights 47 sees decorated Thai Suakim Sor Jor Thongprajin collide with Russian star Alexey Balyko in 140-pound catchweight Muay Thai. With the strikers fresh off notable wins, everything is to play for at the top of the bill.
Suakim returned to the win column under the brightest of spotlights at ONE Friday Fights 34: Rodtang vs. Superlek last September. The Thai dismantled Iranian striker Saman Ashouri with a first-round knockout, announcing himself on the world's biggest Muay Thai stage.
A veteran of 208 bouts, Suakim's experience certainly lent him a hand in returning to winning ways. But Balyko also impressed on his debut. Putting two wins together against formidable opposition will certainly set him up for a big 2024.
The Russian star dispatched 21-year-old phenom Yod-IQ by unanimous decision last September at ONE Friday Fights 33. Going all three rounds gave Balyko time to adjust to life in 4-ounce gloves, and he passed the test in enemy territory.
With wins to both men's names, the strikers are well aware that another victory will move them one step closer to the illustrious US$100,000 contract as ONE Championship enters its busiest schedule in history.
