ONE Championship's first event of 2024 and the first event of this weekend's double-header took place with ONE Friday Fights 47 at Bangkok, Thailand's Lumpinee Boxing Stadium on Friday, 12 January.
The main event saw a tremendous outing as Alexey Balyko and Suakim Sor Jor Thongprajin put it all on the line in a memorable 140-pound catchweight Muay Thai matchup, but Balyko had the final say in securing the third-round knockout win.

The frantic action kicked off immediately as Balyko brought the fight to Suakim immediately. The Russian's furious attitude allowed him to dictate the pace of the contest and take charge of the ring.
But all hell broke loose in the second stanza as Balyko landed a precise looping left hook to drop Suakim. And only moments after regaining his composure, Suakim retorted a huge right hand of his own to send Balyko down to the mat.
With the pair taking the remaining seconds of round two to recover, the third frame was over before fans knew it as Balyko threw another looping left hook to starch the former three-division Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion at 0:22 of the final slate.
In the co-main event, Kompet Fairtex battled his largest opponent in ONE so far in the towering Daren Rolland in strawweight Muay Thai. And despite having his work cut out for him, the Thai star earned the win with a third round knockout.
The reach advantage of Rolland was a huge obstacle early on, but Kompet kept the pressure inside the pocket and began chopping down the Frenchman and taking control of the bout.
Kompet went back to the well profusely in the second round, eventually bringing Rolland down to one knee after ruthless leg kicks. Rolland survived, but Kompet could smell the end being near.
The 23-year-old went full steam ahead to drop Rolland in the final frame, and after smelling blood, Kompet landed another huge right hand to stop Rolland at 2:11 of round three. Now, here is a look at the final results of ONE Friday Fights 47:
