ONE Friday Fights 6 Results: Kongthoranee Finishes Gingsanglek, Khunharnlek Defeats Petmanee

Although ONE Friday Fights 6 had a variety of martial arts action, Muay Thai was clearly the king of the night when the spectacular striking action went down at the famed Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, 24 February.

In the main event, Kongthoranee Sor Sommai and Gingsanglek Tor Laksong met in an intense rubber match of counter-punches and aggression.

Gingsanglek used his low kicks to great effect as he tried to pressure Kongthoranee into a mistake. But his opposite man was prepared and ready to counter every time he tried to inch forward.

Then suddenly, the tables turned, and Kongthoranee became the aggressor, forcing Gingsanglek against the ropes and unleashing a flurry of combinations. As the opening round drew to a close, both fighters traded low kicks while trying to gain the upper hand.

Gingsanglek dropped his foe immediately when the second round kicked off, and the crowd roared behind him in support.

However, Kongthoranee was able to gain momentum when he returned to his feet, and he dropped Gingsanglek twice, with the second time leaving him unable to respond.

This earned Kongthoranee a thrilling second-round knockout victory and a US$10,000 performance bonus for his effort.

The co-main event saw a tightly-contested fight, as Khunharnlek Singha Mawynn and Petmanee Sor Jaruwan battled it out in a back-and-forth match.

Khunharnlek displayed superior clinch control and power, landing roundhouse hooks and blows that pummeled Petmanee. He only stepped back to build his range before springing forward to land his heavy shots.

Petmanee remained determined, though, and sought out body shots, but he was unable to gain the advantage. The third round turned into a clinch war, and Khunharnlek was able to emerge victorious with a unanimous win on his ONE debut.
