ONE Friday Fights 8 Results and Recap: Petsukumvit and Petlampun Score Knockout Victories

Bangkok, March 13: Another thrilling night of action went down at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand as ONE Championship hosted the eighth edition of ONE Friday Fights at the iconic boxing venue.

Fight fans around the world were treated to 12 exciting bouts in ONE Friday Fights 8 this past week on March 10, with each bout delivering a unique spectacle of martial arts excellence.

The main event saw a clash in the flyweight Muay Thai division, between Petsukumvit Boi Bangna and Petchmuangsri Tded99.

Both came into the match with one win each inside the Circle, and they immediately engaged in a clash of sheer will, sharp elbow strikes, and close-range punches.

Petsukumvit remained the aggressor, and Petchmuangsri drew him in before grabbing neutralizing the action in a tight clinch.

The two upped the ante in the second round, with Petsukumvit still swinging for the fences. Petchmuangsri worked hard to keep his opponent in his grip, but An Sukhumvit representative moved out of the way to land more body and head blows.

While Petchmuangsri did his best to restrain his opponent, his knees appeared feeble in comparison to his fellow Thai's ricocheting shots.

Midway through the frame, Petsukumvit finally found the shot he was looking for, connecting with a furious left hand after a barrage of blows to finish his rival off.

The performance earned him his second victory in the Circle and a hefty US$10,000 performance bonus.

In the co-main, fans were treated to a catchweight Muay Thai thriller between Petlampun Muadablampang and Rambong Sor Therapat.

The Thai compatriots went from landing razor-sharp elbows and knees in the clinch to eagerly throwing overhand right hands and damaging kicks and back again across two full rounds of action.

Rambong kept the pressure when the bout entered the third and final frame, seeking to land the heavy-handed blow that would end the fight.

But Petlampun caught his foe's teep and swung himself forward to land a hook on Rambong's visage at just over a minute gone. This gave him the victory by knockout and a performance bonus of $10,000.

Next pay-per-view event for ONE Championship is ONE Fight Night 8, which is set to take place on Saturday, 25 March, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. But before that, another edition of ONE Friday Fights is set to take place on March 17.
