There was no love lost when ONE Friday Fights 97 took over Bangkok, Thailand's Lumpinee Stadium on February 14. The hottest weekly show in combat sports delivered another round of scintillating action as more stars looked to earn a coveted US$100,000 contract.
The main event saw a thrilling encounter as two-time Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion Kongsuk Fairtex outfought Thai compatriot Lamnamoonlek Tded99 in three action-packed rounds of 138-pound catchweight Muay Thai.

To start, Kongsuk marched forward aggressively. But at similar levels, the pair went blow for blow, and it appeared that Lamnamoonlek's prowess packed more substance early on in the fight.
In the second stanza, the duo loosened up as Kongsuk took the fight to his counterpart. As the pair threw hands, Kongsuk dropped the WMC World Champion with a precise left hook to take control of the contest as Lamnamoonlek regained his faculties.
In an attempt to find a decisive strike, Lamnamoonlek was hot on the 24-year-old's tail. The 122-fight veteran made it tough, but Kongsuk's composure allowed him to stay in control and take home the split-decision victory.
In the featured bout of the evening, Francisco Vera spoiled the highly anticipated debut of Vero's welcoming party as she produced a comeback victory in a three-round atomweight Muay Thai thriller.
Initially, Myanmar's Vero commanded the fight. "The Kayan Leopard" showcased a plethora of crisp strikes, tagging her Chilean foe at will. But Vera gave the Myanmar star no respect, pushing on the backfoot before throwing clean punches of her own in an effort to sway the bout.
The second frame saw an exchange of elbows ensue and "Miss Scarface" began to take control of the flow with punches in bunches. Those combinations began to drain the life from Vero, who seemed taken aback to find herself on the receiving end.
The pair never let up, though, and in round three, Vero tried to scurry her way back into the fight. However, Vera's sharp jab and combinations earned her the split-decision win. Here is a look at the full results from ONE Lumpinee 97:
