ONE Championship: Japanese kickboxing sensation Yuki Yoza arrived in ONE Championship with a mission to capture the coveted gold belt, and he's steadily climbing the ladder to reach the pinnacle of the bantamweight kickboxing division.
On 18 July at ONE Friday Fights 116, the former K-1 Champion secured a commanding victory over #3-ranked contender and former ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Petchtanong Petchfergus in a highly anticipated bout with huge implications for the world title scene.

After decimating his second opponent in ONE, the 27-year-old ferocious striker revealed the names of future opponents he would love to face in the ring. The Japanese kickboxing genius called out flyweight and bantamweight kickboxing kings Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Jonathan Haggerty respectively.
"I can fight Superlek but I just defeated #3-ranked Petchtanong Petchfergus. So, I have the license to challenge Jonathan Haggerty as well. But whoever ONE Championship gives me, I will fight," Yoza said during the post-fight interview.
ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Haggerty was thrilled with Yoza's win over the Thai legend. The Brit admitted that Yoza has earned the title shot and expressed his eagerness to face him. He further added it's a clash of styles and history in the making.
"I've seen what you bring to the ring, and I respect it. You said you want to dance with me - and I agree. You've earned your shot. I look forward to the challenge," Haggerty said on Instagram post.
"This isn't just a fight - this is a moment. A clash of styles, of countries, of champions in their prime. Let's give the world something unforgettable. ONE Championship, Chatri Sityodtong - send the contracts. Let's make history, I'm waiting!"
Haggerty was not the only one to accept the challenge from the surging superstar. ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion and former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Superlek issued a stern warning to Yoza on his Facebook page: "I'll become your nightmare. I'm ready now."
