ONE SAMURAI 3 Preview: Champion Nadaka Makes Kickboxing Debut, Former Champion Seeks Redemption

ONE Championship travels to Yokohama, Japan, on Saturday, September 12, as ONE SAMURAI 3 delivers 10 explosive matchups across Muay Thai, MMA, and kickboxing. Championship-caliber action headlines this blockbuster showcase.

The main event features reigning ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Nadaka making his professional kickboxing debut. The Japanese superstar, considered one of the world's greatest pound-for-pound strikers, takes a brief championship break to pursue two-sport dominance.

Nadaka's credentials are staggering, an astounding 41-fight winning streak with no defeats since 2019. Standing across from him will be Myanmar's Har Ling Om, a Lethwei and Muay Thai veteran making his own kickboxing debut. Har Ling Om carries two ONE Championship Muay Thai victories.

The Myanmar striker claims he possesses knockout power sufficient to derail the hometown hero. Defeating generational talent Nadaka would instantly announce Har Ling Om as a true atomweight contender and change his ONE Championship fortunes dramatically.

The co-main event features former ONE Flyweight MMA World Champion Yuya Wakamatsu seeking redemption against Willie van Rooyen. The Japanese fighter lost his crown to Avazbek Kholmirzaev at ONE SAMURAI 1 in April and now hunts his way back to title gold.

Wakamatsu enjoyed incredible 2025, knocking out Adriano Moraes for the vacant flyweight title in March. He subsequently overwhelmed Joshua Pacio with a second-round TKO, establishing himself as divisional king before Kholmirzaev's devastating finish.

South Africa's Van Rooyen enters enemy territory seeking the biggest victory of his near-flawless career. Van Rooyen suffered his first career defeat via submission to Kholmirzaev in his ONE debut last November but rebounded impressively.

The South African subsequently stopped Jeremy Miado via third-round TKO this past March. Both fighters desperately want victory to earn rematch opportunities against current champion Kholmirzaev and claim flyweight MMA gold.
