Tyrese Haliburton Of The Pacers Calls For Calm After Game 5 Loss To Knicks

Following a disappointing Game 5 loss to the New York Knicks, Tyrese Haliburton reassures fans and teammates that there is no need to panic as they lead the series.

Indiana Pacers' Tyrese Haliburton urged calm after their 111-94 defeat to the New York Knicks in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals. Despite the loss, the Pacers still lead the series 3-2. It was an unusual night for them, scoring under 100 points for the first time in these playoffs and never leading during the game.

The team struggled with turnovers, recording 20, their highest in this postseason. The starting lineup managed only 37 points collectively. Benedict Mathurin stood out by scoring a team-high 23 points from the bench. The Pacers will need to address these issues as they prepare for Game 6 back in Indianapolis.

Haliburton Urges Calm After Game 5 Defeat

Despite the setback, Haliburton remained positive about their chances in Game 6. "We're a resilient group," he stated. "We always want to respond when things don't go well after a game like that." He acknowledged his role in improving their pace and expressed confidence in their ability to succeed.

Siakam's Championship Experience

Pascal Siakam, who won an NBA title with Toronto Raptors in 2019, echoed Haliburton's sentiments. "You're going to have bad games," Siakam remarked. "This is the NBA, and there's going to be times where a team is going to play hard." He emphasized that it's about overcoming challenges together as a team.

Carlisle's Analysis of Game 5

Coach Rick Carlisle attributed the loss to a poor start at Madison Square Garden, which allowed New York to gain momentum. "To start the game, we just didn't have the right level of force," Carlisle said. He noted that although there were moments of improvement, they were insufficient to change the game's outcome.

Game 6 is scheduled for Saturday, with a potential series against Oklahoma City Thunder awaiting in the NBA Finals. The Pacers aim to bounce back and demonstrate their capabilities on home turf as they strive for a spot in the finals.
