The Indiana Pacers (5-7) will face off against the Miami Heat (5-6) at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in the NBA on Sunday (November 17).
The two teams meet within a couple of days after Miami's 124-111 victory over Indiana in the NBA Cup.

Date: Sunday, November 17, 2024
Start Time: 5:00 PM ET
Venue: Indianapolis, Indiana
Arena: Gainbridge Fieldhouse
The Pacers have had a roller-coaster start to the season, but they've shown resilience despite several key injuries. In their most recent loss to Miami, Obi Toppin led the team with 21 points, providing a bright spot in what was otherwise a tough night for Indiana. Tyrese Haliburton has been the leader for the Pacers, continuing to impress with his playmaking and scoring ability, but his efforts have often been overshadowed by the team's injury woes.
Aaron Nesmith, who has been a solid contributor, is sidelined until December with an ankle injury, and Andrew Nembhard is out for at least two weeks due to a knee issue. To add to the Pacers' troubles, Isaiah Jackson remains absent after tearing his Achilles, and James Wiseman, who recently underwent successful surgery for his own torn Achilles, is also out.
On the other hand, the Miami Heat are coming off a solid win against Indiana and have managed to stay relatively healthy compared to their counterparts. Bam Adebayo had a stellar performance in Friday's win, leading the team with 30 points. Jimmy Butler, however, remains a key figure for the Heat and is still listed as questionable for tonight's game with an ankle injury.
While the Heat have had some inconsistent performances this season, their veteran leadership and playoff experience keep them in the mix in the Eastern Conference. Miami's depth, particularly in the frontcourt with Adebayo and veteran players like Kyle Lowry and Tyler Herro, gives them the edge, especially in a game where the Pacers will be shorthanded.
Given Indiana's injury concerns, the Heat will likely look to exploit their size and experience in this matchup. The Pacers will need big performances from Haliburton, Toppin, and Buddy Hield to keep the game close. Miami's defense, led by Adebayo, could stifle the Pacers' offense.
Indiana's hopes of securing a win will rely heavily on their ability to hit outside shots and force turnovers. However, the Heat, with or without Butler, have the tools to secure a win if they focus on their defensive prowess and the scoring ability of Adebayo and Herro.
It looks like it will be two on the trot for the Heat over the Pacers. Although Heat are on an alternative run in the past three matches, the Pacers have lost their last two and may lose again at home.
