New Delhi, Nov 26 (UNI) Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi today made a ferment appeal to India not to cancel its cricket tour of his country scheduled early next year.
Qureshi, who arrived here this afternoon on a four-day visit, assured that Indian cricket team will be provided a full-proof security.
''The Indian team is welcome to Pakistan. Indians are welcome to Pakistan,'' he said.
India's tour was under a serious threat as the government has raised its concerns over the security in Pakistan which has witnessed a series of terrorist attacks in past one year.
However, the Pakistan minister said he would prefer more 'people-to-people' contacts between the two countries.
The final decision on the tour, scheduled from January 6 to February 19, will be taken within two weeks on the basis of the assessment by a high-level team of officials that will be going to Pakistan shortly.
