Pak players given warm farewell after three-week long camp

Chandigarh, April 15 (UNI) A nine-member Pakistan tennis team, which attended a three-week long advanced coaching camp from March 27 at the Tennis Stadium here, today left here after ''getting advanced training under good conditions and tennis facilities''.

The team was given a warm farewell by the staff of the Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association here.

CLTA General Manager R K Nayyar and CLTA Director (Coaching) Gary O'Brian were present on the occasion.

Chief delegate of the Pakistan team Nazir Ahmed was visibly delighted that the Pakistan players ''got advanced training under good conditions and tennis facilities''.

Nazir was confident that the Pakistan boys, who were trained at the CLTA Tennis Sports Complex here for 21 days had gained a lot of experience and confidence. Two of his trainees also competed in the AITA Super Series.

The Pakistani players, during the camp, also got to see top players from 17 countries who competed in the India F5 Futures ITF Men's Circuit conducted by the CLTA from March 31 to April 5.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan players and their officials called on Punjab Sports Director Olympian Pargat Singh, who reportedly assured to explore the possibility of an Indo-Pak tennis series under the mutual exchange programme between the two countries.
