Pak to take part in the inaugural Twenty20 Champions League

New Delhi, Sept 14 (UNI) Pakistan will take part in the five- nation inaugural Champions Twenty 20 League to be held in October next year.

''PCB will undoubtedly be part of of the inaugural Champions League, especially since Pakistan has been playing an official Twenty20 league for the last three years and it has been highly successful,'' BCCI vice president Lalit Modi said in a press release.

He also said Pakistan is also one of the four contenders that could host the inaugural edition of the League.

Apart from India and Pakistan, the three other teams for the Champions Twenty20 League are England, Australia and South Africa.

The clarification came after Pakistan's name did not figure in the announcement made regarding the tournament at a function here yesterday.
