Pakistan opts out of World Under-21 Snooker Championship
Lahore, Aug 19 (UNI) A flawed domestic structure for the game has prompted Pakistan to opt out of the IBSF World Under-21 Snooker Championship to be held in Goa from August 22.
Acording to a report in 'The News', Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) opted out of the ten-day event because of the absence of an appropriate platform for the young cueists in the country.
''We are not in a position to send anyone for the Under-21 Championship because we don't have any junior snooker competition at the national level yet,'' a PBSA official was quoted by 'The News' as saying today.
The International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) has invited all the member nations to send a maximum entry of three male and one female player for the 12,000 dollar event.
