Pak team manager "disappointed and frustrated over under performance" in Lanka series

By Super Admin

Islamabad, Aug.18 (ANI): Disappointed over the disastrous tour of Sri Lanka, Pakistan cricket team's manager Yawar Saeed has admitted that the team under-performed during the recently concluded series.

"Yes I'm disappointed and frustrated with the overall performance. It was an under par performance," Saeed said.

When asked about the match fixing allegations during the series, Saeed told PakPassion.net that all stories regarding the issue were baseless.

"There was nothing untoward regarding the players, they behaved impeccably. I spoke to all of the players and instructed them not to associate themselves with any individuals whom they were not familiar with and they followed my instructions. I have no idea whether any bookies were stopping at the hotel or not," Saeed said.

Saeed said he has given his report to the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding the match fixing issue, and was pleased to know that the apex cricketing council endorsed his views that no Pakistani cricketer was involved in the issue.

"I gave my report to the ICC and they investigated matters and I'm pleased that they concluded that there was no such incident involving Pakistan players and any bookmakers," he said. (ANI)
