Pallavi, Yashaswat win Delhi Chess Championship

New Delhi, May 16 (UNI) Pallavi Dutta of Ryan International School won the under-15 Girls Championship title while Yashaswat Srivastava of New Era Public School, Mayapuri emerged the under-7 Boys champion in the Delhi State Chess Championship here today.

Pallavi drew the final game against her opponent Preetika Tayal, helping her grab the lead with a difference of 0.5 points.

The final tally for Pallavi read 3.5 points to Preetika's 3 points.

M Sravya and Kanika Saxena finished third and fourth respectively.

All the four have been selected to represent Delhi in National under-15 Girls chess championship.

In the boys under-7 final, Yashaswat emerged the winner with perfect score of 5 points out of as many rounds to win the title.

His opponent Anish Jain of Goodlay Public School, Shalimar Bagh played a good game but Yashwant maintained his calm to pull of a well deserved win.

Both Yashaswat and Anish Jain have been selected to represent Delhi in the National under-7 championship.

Swayam Bhatia and Lakshay Aggarwal finished third and fourth respectively.
