Manan became the darling of the seizable crowd which turned up to watch the final with some delectable potting while playing for crucial points.

Pankaj's poor potting was evident from the fact that he had only two good breaks of 87 in the fourth and 50 in the first. He was down in most of the frames, which he won and in fact benefited from the fouls and misses committed by Manan.

But Pankaj got back his rhythm in the final frame and was up 60-34. And after Manan cleared the last red and missed a few chances, Pankaj cleaned up the remaining colours of brown, blue and black after Manan sank the pink too.

Pankaj also carried home the winner's purse of Rs 1.30 lakh and Manan the runner up prize of Rs 60,000.

Pankaj admitted that he was under tremedous pressure. '' It is not easy to be consistent in your potting'', he said, adding that he was struggling with his shots for most part of the contest.
