Sun Yingsha, the World No.1 women's paddler, is set to face India's top-ranked Sreeja Akula in the Round of 16 at the Paris Olympics 2024.
A Tokyo 2020 silver medallist in women's singles, Sun has already won four singles titles this year, including the WTT Champions Chongqing and World Cup 2024.
She also secured a gold medal in mixed doubles at the Paris Olympics 2024. With a stellar record, including an Asian Games 2023 gold medal and numerous WTT titles, Sun aims for a decisive victory over Akula. Sun's dominance is reflected in her consistent top ranking and multiple prestigious wins.

Starting with table tennis first, earlier today 16th seed Sreeja Akula defeated 31st seedZeng Jian (Singapore) 9-11, 12-10, 11-4, 11-5, 10-12, 12-10 (4-2) but now will have to face the toughest challenge of her table tennis career. More on Sun Yingsha in our next update
