Darian Cruz is a seasoned wrestler and three-time Pan American medalist who secured his spot at the Paris Olympics 2024 following strong performances at the Pan American Qualification Tournament earlier this year.
A standout athlete from Lehigh University, Cruz became the 2017 NCAA Division I national champion and earned three consecutive gold medals at the EIWA Championships from 2016 to 2018. Internationally, Cruz has garnered multiple accolades, including a silver medal at the 2022 Grand Prix and a bronze at the 2023 Pan American Games. Currently ranked 30th in the UWW World Rankings

At the Paris Olympics, Aman Sehrawat had an impressive run on his way to the bronze medal match in the men's 57kg wrestling category. He started strong, defeating Macedonia's Vladimir Egorov with a dominant 10-0 victory (technical superiority) in the pre-quarterfinals. Aman continued his excellent form by overpowering Albania's Zelimkhan Abakarov 12-0 (another TSU) in the quarterfinals, securing a spot in the semi-finals.
However, his journey to the final was halted by Rio Olympics silver medallist Rei Higuchi of Japan, who defeated Aman 10-0 in a quick bout. Aman will now compete for the bronze medal against Puerto Rico's Darian Cruz.

Aman Sehrawat is a promising wrestler from Delhi's Chhatrasal Stadium, known for producing top athletes like Sushil Kumar and Bajrang Punia. Born on July 16, 2003, in Birohar, Haryana, he faced a difficult childhood, losing both parents at the age of 11.
His grandfather stepped in to support him, and Aman found his passion in wrestling. Inspired by Sushil Kumar, he joined Chhatrasal Stadium and quickly made a name for himself. He won gold at the 2019 Asian Cadet Championships and became the first Indian to win gold at the 2022 U-23 World Championships. He secured a spot for Paris 2024 in the men's 57kg event.

Men's Relay Team couldn't reach the final either but they put up a respectable show by clocking their season-best (3:00.58) while missing out on a final spot by a mere 0.50 seconds Zambia, who qualified as the last of second qualifiers.
Muhammad Ajmal clocked the fastest among Indians at 44.55 after national record holder Muhammad Anas provided a decent start with a timing of 45.80 seconds. His timings will appear slower than others since he started the race maintaining his lane.
However, Ramesh and Amoj Jacob fails to clock sub-45 timing on the day, eventually costing a place in the final

Indian women's 4x400m relay team finishes last in the Heat 2 as they finish close to 8 seconds behind toppers Jamaica. The Indian quartet clocked 3:32.51 seconds and is almost four seconds slower than their season best of 3:28.64.
MR Povamma disappoints the most with a timing of 54+ while Vithya Ramraj fails to provide an exclusive start. Jyothi clocks sub-52 but a sub-51 was expected of her in the anchor leg while the gap was too big for her to fill!
India women's 4x400m relay race is set to begin!
The women's 4x400m relay team will look to make an impression after losing their title at the Asian Games last year. Led by veteran MR Povamma, who has been clocking sub-53 seconds timing at 34,Jyothika Sri Dandi is their fastest runner after she clocked 51.53 seconds and may run the anchor leg too.
Hurdles specialist Vithya Ramraj, who equalled PT Usha's record, has found her place in the 400m flats and impressed with a season-best of 52.25 seconds whileSubha Venkatesan also clocked her personal best in the season at 52.34 seconds
Crucially, Kiran Pahal, who is India's fastest runner in the season at 50.92 seconds, is not part of the team as she failed to impress in the individual events with a drop of almost 2 seconds in her timings in Paris.

"I will have to consult with my team and make a decision soon. I've been pushing my body despite the condition it's in. My throws are still strong, but I know I can achieve more if I'm fully fit.
