Paris 2024 Paralympics Schedule For Day 7, Wednesday, September 4: Harvinder Singh and Others Set Eyes on More Medals Today

India's pursuit of glory continues at the 2024 Paris Paralympics on Wednesday, 4th September, following a historic performance that has already secured 20 medals - the highest in the nation's Paralympic history.

On Tuesday, India added five more medals, including two silver and three bronze, highlighting the country's growing prowess in para-sports.

Sharad Kumar and Mariyappan Thangavelu led the charge with silver and bronze in the men's high jump, while Ajeet Singh and Sundar Singh Gurjar claimed silver and bronze in the men's javelin throw. Deepthi Jeevanji also contributed with a bronze in the women's 400m T20 race.

Looking ahead, India's athletes are poised to continue this momentum on Day 7. Powerlifting events feature Parmjeet Kumar in the men's up to 49 kg final and Sakina Khatun in the women's up to 45 kg final, both of whom are strong contenders for medals.

Harvinder Singh, a bronze medalist from the Tokyo Paralympics, will be aiming for a higher finish in the men's individual recurve open event in para-archery. Singh's journey could see him competing in the quarterfinals, semifinals, and potentially the bronze medal match, depending on his performance.

In para-athletics, Sachin Khilari, Mohd Yasser, and Rohit Kumar will compete in the men's shot put F46 final, with Khilari, a reigning World Champion, expected to be a strong contender. Additionally, Amisha Rawat will participate in the women's shot put F46 final, while Pranav Soorma and Dharambir are set to compete in the men's club throw F51 final.

India's para-shooters, Nihal Singh and Rudransh Khandelwal, will aim to advance in the P4-Mixed 50m Pistol SH1 event, hoping to replicate the success of their predecessors.
