Paris Olympics 2024: Four Events which will start even before the Opening Ceremony

The Paris Olympics 2024 is set to commence from July 27, and the opening ceremony of the grand event will take place on July 26.

The City of Love, Paris, will witness 10,500 athletes fighting for the prestigious Olympic medal as the humongous extravaganza continues till August 11. But there will be a few events already in the running before the official unveiling of the Olympics.

Olympics 2024: Why will Events start before Opening Ceremony?

Although the Olympics 2024 Opening Ceremony will be on July 26, there will be events starting a couple of days prior to that. Generally, the official unveiling of the Olympics starts with the commencement of the track and field events. Hence, some of the team sports get scheduled even before the opening ceremony to accommodate the tournaments within the definitive time period. As many events require a single stadium, the events are scheduled such that they don't interfere with each other.

Paris Olympics 2024: Five Sports Events which will start before the Opening Ceremony

As many as five sports events will start before the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony. The matches of the Olympics shall start from July 24.

On July 24, Men's Football, and Men's Rugby Sevens matches will take place. Argentina, Spain will be among the teams in action in football. In Rugby, Samoa, USA, France will be in action as well.

On July 25, the football and Rugby will continue and Women's and Men's Archery will add to the list. The Women's Handball shall also start on the same day.

On July 26, 10 m Air Rifle Shooting (Men, Women and Mixed) event shall take place before the Opening Ceremony.
