The Indian Golf Union has confirmed that golfer Diksha Dagar is safe along with her family after a car crash days ahead of her women's individual stroke play event in Paris Olympics 2024.
Earlier reports suggested that the Dagar family-Diksha, her father and caddie Col. Naren Dagar, her mother, and her brother-were involved in a car accident on Tuesday (July 30) night while returning from an event at the India House.

The report added that their car was crossing an intersection when another vehicle, which was obscured by an ambulance, collided with their vehicle. Col. Dagar confirmed that Diksha was unharmed and is ready to compete. However, her mother suffered an injury and will remain in the hospital for treatment.
The Indian Golf Union provided an update on the situation, confirming that the golfer will be competing in the Olympics as per schedule as Brijinder Singh, President of the Indian Golf Union, also wished Diksha all the luck for her event.
"We spoke to Diksha's father Col. Dagar after the accident and would like to confirm that the family is safe. Diksha's mother has suffered a stress in her spine due to the impact and is under medical supervision and her brother is also safe and sound," Singh was quoted as saying in a statement.
"On behalf of the Indian Golf Union I would like to reiterate that we are in continuous touch with the family and will continue to provide whatever support possible in this situation.
"I am happy that a talent like Diksha will be representing the country for the second time in the Olympics as per schedule. On behalf of IGU and the golfing fraternity and fans, I wish her good luck for a memorable performance."
The President of the Indian Golf Union is in Paris to witness the men's golf competition that got underway on Thursday (August 1) with Shubhankar Sharma and Gaganjeet Bhullar representing the country in the 60-man field.
Diksha Dagar and Aditi Ashok are set to represent India in the women's golf event at Paris 2024 with the competition set to take place at Le Golf National in Guyancourt from August 7 to 10.
This is Diksha's second Olympic appearance after her last-minute entry at Tokyo 2020 following South African golfer Paula Reto withdrawal. In Tokyo 2020, Diksha finished T-50.
