However, one nation stood out above the rest, continuing its legacy in the sport. Here's a breakdown of the top performers in table tennis at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

1. China: 5 Medals (4 Gold, 1 Silver)

China once again proved its dominance in table tennis, securing a total of five medals, including four golds and one silver. The Chinese team's performance was nothing short of extraordinary.

They successfully defended their gold medal in the men's team event, marking their fifth consecutive Olympic title since the event's inception at the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

In the men's singles, Fan Zhendong led the charge by clinching gold, adding another prestigious title to his already decorated career. 4. North Korea: 1 Medal (1 Silver)

India's Performance in Table Tennis at the Paris 2024 Olympics

India's table tennis campaign at the Paris 2024 Olympics was marked by several firsts, though it ultimately ended without a medal.

The women's team, comprising Manika Batra, Sreeja Akula, and Archana Kamath, reached the quarter-finals, which was India's best performance in the team event at the Olympics. Unfortunately, they were eliminated by Germany in a hard-fought match.

In the singles events, both Manika Batra and Sreeja Akula made history by advancing to the round of 16, becoming the first Indian players to do so at the Olympics.

Manika Batra, in particular, continued to build on her reputation as a trailblazer for Indian table tennis. However, their journeys ended there, with Batra losing to Japan's Miu Hirano and Akula being defeated by China's Sun Yingsha.

Veteran Sharath Kamal, who was also India's flag bearer at the Opening Ceremony, faced a tough draw in the men's singles and was eliminated in the opening round. Harmeet Desai, who won his qualifier, reached the round of 64 before bowing out.
