Paris Olympics 2024 Opening Ceremony: India will be robustly present in the curtain raiser of the Paris Olympics 2024 on Friday (July 26). The historical opening ceremony will take place on the river Seine.

Indian Olympic Association President Dr. PT Usha and Chef-de-Mission Gagan Narang have given top priority to athletes in the composition of the contingent in the Athletes' Parade. All athletes who made themselves available will be part of the Parade. Many have competitions on Saturday and IOA has been respectful of their decision to prioritise preparation and to not take part in the Opening Ceremony.

PV Sindhu and Sharath Kamal will be the flagbearers for India, while Lovlina Borgohain, Tarundeep Rai and Manika Batra are among the other prominent names set to be present at the event.

But India's star Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra is set to miss the event on Friday. The Tokyo Olympics Gold medalist is currently training in Turkey ahead of the competition and will be skipping the grand event for preparatory reasons.

Sailing: Vishnu Saravanan and Nethra Kumanan

Shooting: Anjum Moudgil, Sift Kaur Samra, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Anish.

Swimming: Srihari Nataraj and Dhinidhi Desinghu

Table Tennis: Sharath Kamal and Manika Batra

Tennis: Rohan Bopanna, Sumit Nagal and Sriram Balaji.

Note: Balraj Panwar (Rowing) has his race on Saturday morning. The athletics, weightlifting and wrestling teams are yet to reach Paris.

What Time Will Olympics 2024 Opening Ceremony Start?

In India, it will start around 11 PM (IST) on Friday, July 26. The ceremony kicks off at 7:30 PM CEST (6:30 PM BST, 12:30 PM CDT, and 10:30 AM PDT in the US). The marker of the beginning of the Summer Games will be at 8:24 PM CEST, which cleverly aligns with the year 2024 when expressed in the 24-hour clock (20:24).
