By the end of the first two sets, she had already secured an impressive 118 out of a possible 120 points, placing her firmly in the lead. Her consistency and precision continued as she amassed 234 points out of a possible 240 after four sets. This stellar performance kept her ahead of her closest competitor, Nam Suhyeon, another South Korean archer.

Despite a less-than-perfect seventh set, where she managed only one 10-point shot out of six attempts, Lim's cumulative score remained formidable. By the eighth set, her lead had slightly diminished, but she still maintained a significant advantage. She demonstrated incredible endurance and focus, crucial factors that propelled her towards breaking the records.

By the end of the ranking round, Lim Si-Hyeon had achieved a total score of 694 out of 720 points. This extraordinary feat surpassed the previous world record of 692 points, held by her compatriot Kang Chae-young since 2019. Moreover, Lim also broke the Olympic record of 680 points, set by another South Korean archer, An San, at the Tokyo Olympics.

Lim's new world and Olympic records were the highlight of the ranking round, illustrating her dominance and exceptional skill in the sport. Her performance not only set a new benchmark but also boosted the morale of the South Korean team, which had already set a new team Olympic record with a combined score of 2046 points, surpassing their previous record of 2032 points from the Tokyo Olympics.

As the archery events progress, Lim Si-Hyeon's historic performance in the ranking round places her as a top contender in the upcoming medal rounds. Her ability to perform under pressure and break longstanding records is a testament to her talent and dedication.

This record-breaking achievement by Lim Si-Hyeon will undoubtedly be a memorable moment in the archery competitions at the Paris Olympics 2024. It not only highlights her individual excellence but also underscores South Korea's continued dominance in the sport.
