Pathan, Ojha make it to Indian Team; Munaf, Karthik dropped

New Delhi, May 30 (UNI) Hard-hitting batsman Yusuf Pathan and left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha were today rewarded for their stand out performances in the ongoing IPL after the BCCI included them in the 15-member squad for the tri-series in Bangladesh and the Asia Cup in Pakistan.

The BCCI selected the squad, which will be led by Mahender Singh Dhoni, for the ODI tri-series in Bangladesh that begins July 8 followed by the Asia Cup that starts from June 24.

Pathan scored 334 runs at an average of 27.83 from 13 innings with three fifties. He recorded the fastest half-century of the Twenty20 tournament off 21 balls against the Deccan Chargers. He also took five wickets with his off-spin.

Whereas, Ojha was a lone performer for the Deccan Chargers who finished at the bottom of the IPL table. He claimed 11 wickets at an average of 25.81 in the tournament.

Former captains Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly failed to make it to the one-day side once again, while Dinesh Karthik and Munaf Patel, who were part of the side that won the CB series in Australia, were also excluded from the team.
