Patial Mohali draw match, Patiala in Katoch Shield semis
Patiala, Sep 8 (UNI) Mohali played well to pile up 333 for 6 in 95 overs against Patiala in the Katoch Shield at the Dhruve Pandove Cricket Stadium here today.
However, the match ended in a draw with both the teams getting a point each. Patiala is now in the semi-final.
Overnight 88 for 1 in 33 overs, Mohali started this morning on a despondent note when M Sidana, who was 62 not out yesterday, was back to the pavilion after adding only 3 runs to his score.
However, Sumit Ohri, the other not out batsman, held the fort at one end to score 88 brilliant runs, studded with 8 fours. But it was Gurkirat Singh who tore the Patiala bowling attack to shreds, scoring a breezy century (104) which contained 11 fours and a six.
Manpreet Singh too played a good innings of unbeaten 43, which comprised 5 sixes.
Beerinder Singh captured 5 wickets, conceding 78 runs and Sarabjit Ladda took 1 for 97.
Patiala replied with 103 for 2 in 27 overs at draw of stumps. H Mandora was unbeaten on 45 and Pankaj Dharmani was 43 not out.
For Mohali, Harmit Singh and Manpreet Singh took 1 wicket each, giving away 16 and 17 runs respectively.
