Patiala beat Jalandhar, earn two points

Patiala, Aug 5 (UNI) Patiala defeated Jalandhar by virtue of first innings lead and earned two points in the Punjab Inter-District cricket (Under-19) for Dhruv Pandove Trophy here today at the Dhruv Pandove Stadium.

Replying to Patiala's mammoth total of 418 runs, Jalandhar could not withstand the strong Patiala bowling attack and folded their innings on 145 in 45.1 overs. The main run getters were Siddharth Sharma (37), Love Kumar (36), Abhishek Gupta (26) and M Mandhar (26).

For Patiala, right-arm leg spinner Bhavish Goyal ripped through the strong Jalandhar batting line-up, to capture six wickets, conceding 47 runs. Amarinder Singh took 2 for 32.

Patiala enforced the follow on, and Jalandhar were 45 for no loss in 5.4 overs when the play was called off due to heavy downpour.

Pargat Singh and Himanshu were unbeaten on 32 and 4 runs respectively.
