Patiala piles up 425 against Minor Districts
Patiala, Aug 21 (UNI) Patiala piled up a mammoth total of 452, losing seven wickets, in the allotted 95 overs on the opening day of the two-day tie against Minor Districts in the Punjab Inter-District Under-22 Cricket Tournament here today.
Batting first, Patiala batsmen sent the Minor Districts bowlers on a leather hunt. Ravi Inder Singh notched up double century (212) in 279 balls, hitting 22 fours and 4 huge sixes.
He was imperious and played like a champion batsman. Sonu Mandora (68), T.S.Bawa (57), Amitoj Singh (24) and Ankur Jund (25) were the other batsmen to add to Minor Districts misery.
For Minor Districts, Sandeep took 2 wickets, conceding 44 runs, Rahul took 2 for 83. Nakul took 1 wicket, giving away 108 runs.
Minor Districts will commence their innings tomorrow and are likely to eat the humble pie against the formidable Patiala bowling attack.
