Patiala upset Karnataka

Vijayawada, Apr 16 (UNI) Patiala upset defending champions Karnataka 1-0 in the league stage of the Under-18 Junior National Hockey Championship at Guntur here today .

In a Pool-A match, Patiala scored the only goal of the match in the 68th minute.

In another match of the pool Orissa defeated Vidarbha pool 16-0.

While SAI beat Himachal Pradesh 5-0 in Pool-C, and Maharashtra defeated Assam 5-1 in Pool-G.

In other two well contested matches, Uttar Pradesh held Namdhari 1-1 in Pool-F, while Madhya Pradesh drew with Kerala 3-3 in Pool-B.
