ONE Championship's summer of sport continues to grow hotter with every bout announcement that it makes, and ONE Fight Night 23: Buntan vs. Meksen looks like it's about to start sizzling.
On Saturday, 6 July, former ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champions collide when Petchtanong Petchfergus returns to the fold for the first time since October 2022 against Russian star Alaverdi Ramazanov inside Bangkok, Thailand's iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.

Aside from his accomplishments in ONE, Petchtanong is a former WBC and WMC Muay Thai World Champion. His vast amount of experience and skill set have always made him a threat to the best bantamweights in the world.
He added the ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Championship to his glittering list with a split-decision victory over Hiroki Akimoto at ONE 163 in October 2022. Unfortunately, the Thai never had the opportunity to defend the crown after failing a drug test that stripped him of the World Title.
After serving his suspension, Petchtanong knows that a clinical victory over his Russian foe will get him back into World Title territory and one-step closer to striking overlord Jonathan Haggerty.
But #3-ranked bantamweight kickboxing contender Ramazanov is on a similar quest, so he'll do everything in his power to stop the 38-year-old's comeback en route to reclaiming the gold he once held.
A former champion in his own right, "Babyface Killer" has 12 bouts on his record in the world's largest martial arts organization. The highlight of which came when he claimed the ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title in 2019 against Zhang Chenglong.
Only 24-years-old at the time, it was a heavy crown on a young head. And as the saying goes - it's easier to win the World Title than it is to defend it. That rang true when Ramazanov lost the gold to Capitan Petchyindee in his next bout.
Since 2019, Ramazanov has jumped over into ONE Championship's Muay Thai ranks. There, he won three of his five outings in 4-ounce gloves, including challenging former king Nong-O Hama for the gold at ONE Friday Fights 1 in January 2023.
Now 29, Ramazanov has a boatload of experience and has made great strides in his abilities. And without a doubt, he'll look to showcase his evolution against a decorated great in Petchtanong at ONE Fight Night 23 this July.
