Perth, August 30 : Comparing a picture of eight-times gold medal winner Michael Phelps with a "mystery" girl at an Olympics party with that of swimming stunner Stephanie Rice, it is now being suggested that the two actually got together while in Beijing.

The pictures, first published by The Daily Telegraph, show a number of striking similarities between them.

According to Perth Now, both girls are wearing matching hats, had the same long brunette hair, had identical tops and skirts, and even their silver and white bangles were the same.

The poor-quality picture has been in circulation on a few blog sites for a while.

Though it has been suggested that the mystery girl might have been Rice, there was no evidence.

The good picture comes from a collection of photos from behind the scenes in Beijing, taken by Olympic double gold-winning swimmer Felicity Galvez for The Daily Telegraph.

It was snapped as Galvez, Rice and other team pals set off on a night of partying - a night which seemingly ended in Rice making a big splash.
