PM calls meet on Commonwealth Games

New Delhi, Aug 14: Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh called for a meeting to discuss the growing controversy on Commonwealth Games.

PM scheduled the meeting at 4.30 pm on Saturday, Aug 14. The crucial meeting will be attended by CWG Chief Suresh Kalmadi, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Cabinet Secretary KM Chandrasekhar and Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy.

On Friday, Aug 14 Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi met to discuss the controversy. The meeting decided to leave all issues regarding CWG to the government to take a decision.

Unofficial reports claimed that Suresh Kalmadi will stay on as chief of the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee and soon Sports Ministry will announce Games supervisory panel.
